A.P. Reid Insurance announces third western Canada acquisition

Dartmouth, Nova Scotia  — A.P. Reid Insurance Stores announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the personal lines portfolio of Edmonton-based company, NIB Insurance Brokers. This move follows the acquisition of Robinson Insurance Brokers in 2016, and a group auto and home insurance portfolio in 2015.

A.P. Reid has been expanding their national footprint since their first step outside of the Atlantic Region, with the purchase of an Ontario-based brokerage in 2013.

Like all A.P Reid business, this new group of customers will be serviced both locally through their office in Edmonton and through A.P. Reid’s national call centres, located in Dartmouth and New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.

A.P. Reid Insurance Stores was recently ranked by Insurance Business Magazine as one of the top ten insurance brokerages in Canada. The company, which took fourth place, was the only Atlantic Canadian-based brokerage to be featured on the list.

A.P. Reid is a member of the Storm Insurance Group, a group of companies led by Jamie Reid. The group also includes Underwriting Contract Administrators Inc.
